several large #4 oil leaking underground storage tanks from a congested
plant in an urban setting. Designed and installed free product recovery
trenches to intercept and collect oil, then a vacuum pump bagged
extraction system installed inside large diameter recovery wells,
located at juncture of recovery trenches. Site restoration included
sidewalk, curbing and roadway replacement.

conducted split-spoon and Geoprobe sampling for soil investigation to
determine the extent of soil contamination at an impacted site.
Installed groundwater piezometers and completed a groundwater
investigation. Developed cost-effective remediation strategies to
address contamination at the site including a technique to remediate the
contaminated soil on-site.

Coordinated the removal of 8 regulated tanks and subsequent remediation
of nearly 1000 tons of contaminated soil at a former gas station in
preparation for a sale of the property to an auto body shop. Worked
closely with NJDEP, utility companies, local building department
officials, and the Union County Road Department, as contamination
migrated into street. Assisted in the preparation of documents for state
funding and grants from the New Jersey Economic Development Authority to
lessen the owner's payment obligations.

Designed
and installed two precast 20,000-gallon tank vaults, with doors, stairs,
piping and monitor system instrumentation. Double walled Conley piping
system plus power and sensing electrical conduit was installed inside
200 feet of 3' x 4' box culverts that crossed under roadways and
railroad crossings. Finished work included lighting, ventilation,
grates, vapor and liquid level sensing instrumentation, ballards and
guardrails.
