Effective August 4, 2006, the Economic Development Authority (EDA) launched a
program that provides loans and grants to help finance project costs for the
closure and replacement of a NON-LEAKING residential underground storage
tank (UST). This program is called the Petroleum Underground Storage Tank
Remediation, Upgrade and Closure Program (PUST).
For
eligibility requirements, details, frequently asked questions, etc., please
click here to visit the information page on the NJ EDA website, or call our
office at 800-564-8502. When you call, be sure to request a complimentary
instructional DVD that takes you step by step through the application
process.
NewTankNJ.org is another very helpful website that has been created specifically
to simplify the process of getting a state grant to pay for your tank upgrade.

to check it out. It's very thorough and easy to navigate.
Funding is also available for homeowners with LEAKING USTs. This program
is available through the NJ Department of Environmental Protection (NJDEP).
